I grew up in Des Moines and Prairie City, Iowa. I
graduated from high school in 2004 and enlisted in the
Navy soon after. I completed training in Great Lakes,
Illinois and Pensacola, Florida and was assigned to the
USS Abraham Lincoln in Everett, Washington. My rate was
cryptologic technician, but I also served on my ship's
In-port Security Force and was an active member of a
firefighting repair locker during battle stations. Over the
three years I spent on the aircraft carrier, I was able to
visit Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and Bahrain.
After four years in the military, I decided to explore new opportunities, moved to
Bellingham, and began taking classes at Whatcom Community College. I completed
my associate's degree, transferred to Western Washington University, and earned my
bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in political science. I am hoping to begin a
career in public safety very soon.

Some of my interests include motorcycles, bicycles, photography, and English soccer. I
enjoy hiking, shooting, participating in auto racing, and spending time with my wife.
